Join members of the New York Financial Writers’ Association for the presentation of our 2014 Elliott V. Bell Award, which will be awarded to John Huey, former editor-in-chief of Time Inc. Huey is the 39th recipient of the Elliott V. Bell Award, which is named after the NYFWA’s founding president and which recognizes individuals who have made long-term contributions to financial journalism and have had a significant impact on the industry.

As part of the evening, Huey will take part in a panel that will discuss the evolving nature of business news as it adapts and an increasingly digitized business model. He will be joined on the panel by Martin Nisenholtz, the former digital head at The New York Times who now serves as a professor of the practice of digital communication at Boston University and venture partner at Firstmark Capital in New York; John Geddes, former managing editor of The New York Times and Paul Sagan, an executive in residence at venture capital firm General Catalyst Partners and a director (and former CEO) of Akamai Technologies. The panel will be moderated by Andy Serwer, editor-in-chief of Yahoo.Finance.

The evening will begin with a short reception featuring drinks and appetizers. This event is only open to NYFWA members in good standing. Guests are welcome to attend for $15. RSVP’s are mandatory, as you cannot get into the building if your name is not on the list.
