Wall Street Journal Seeking Real-Estate Editor

We are looking for an enterprising and creative editor to run the Real Estate Bureau in New York.

The editor will drive coverage of a vitally important subject: national housing and commercial real estate. Housing shapes the economy, our lives, and our communities. We need an editor able to call historic moments in the market. A keen understanding of mortgages and finance is a plus.

The ideal candidate will identify high-impact stories and issues for us to cover. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to be part of the biggest stories of the day, while striving for deeply reported narratives, investigations and enterprise journalism.

The job has a rare feature, it also controls real estate. The editor runs the weekly Property Report which runs online and in print in Business & Finance once a week.

The editor needs to be a great manager and collaborator. The bureau works closely with colleagues in other bureaus across the U.S. and internationally.

The ability to mentor reporters and shape beat coverage is a must. The editor will work as part of a team of U.S. bureau chiefs and report to me.
