Jan. 21, 2020 – Writing Masterclass With WSJ’S Jason Zweig

How can you use history, psychology and even great literature to convey authority and meaning to your readers? The Wall Street Journal’s “Intelligent Investor” columnist Jason Zweig will describe his methods and participate in a discussion on the craft of writing moderated by NYFWA President Cezary Podkul.

Jason Zweig has been an investing columnist for The Wall Street Journal since 2008. He is the editor of the revised edition of Benjamin Graham’s The Intelligent Investor and the author of several books, including Your Money and Your Brain and The Devil’s Financial Dictionary. Before joining the Journal, Zweig was a senior writer for Money magazine, a guest columnist for Time and the mutual-funds editor at Forbes.

Cezary Podkul is a senior reporter at the Wall Street Journal, where he pursues investigative projects with a focus on Wall Street. He previously wrote for ProPublica and Reuters. Cezary earned a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and worked briefly on Wall Street before turning to financial journalism in 2008.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a reception featuring drinks and appetizers, followed by the discussion with Jason starting at 7 p.m. This event is only open to NYFWA members in good standing. Guests of the NYFWA are welcome to attend for $15, which must be paid in advance using the following link: http://nyfwa.org/estore
