July 28th, 2020 – The Role & Responsibility of the Media in Reporting on Race & Equality

Join the New York Financial Writers' Association for an evening with PBS NewsHour senior editor James Blue, Insider news editor Kadia Tubman and Reuters 2020 campaign correspondent Trevor Hunnicutt, for a discussion on the current focus of race is changing the way newsrooms tackle the subject in their reporting and within their ranks.

This panel will cover the touchy subject of race and inequality in America and how it is covered on TV, the web and in print. Media companies of all stripes are under the microscope not just for their reporting, but who's doing the reporting and who's making the decisions on what's reported - how will that change given the spotlight? All three panelists are involved in these discussions within their newsrooms.

The conversation will be moderated by NYFWA board member and Reuters TV business correspondent Conway G. Gittens. If you have any questions for the panel, get in touch: conway.gittens@thomsonreuters.com

When: Tuesday, July 28, 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. (EST)
